Abstract

A scenario was designed for use in simulation-based education on prehospital emergency care for patients suffering acute myocardial infarction (AMI), which is the most common medical emergency subset of the acute coronary syndrome (ACS) spectrum. Prehospital management of and history taking from such patients are therefore performed to save time and accurately interpret 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs). Simulating this scenario can train emergency medical technician students in these skills, as well as improve their ability in interpreting ST segment elevations on ECGs.
